Scenic Landscapes will meet with you and discuss your requirements, and then provide a written quotation – all this is free of charge.

If you require a consultation, site survey, a full set of drawn plans to scale by a qualified Garden Designer, and a written quotation for the works then this can be arranged for the fees as shown below:-

Design and consultancy

The initial element of our design service is an on-site consultation visit, which will last up to one hour. During this time the designer will view the area concerned and discuss your needs, ideas and budget for the project. You will be shown recent projects to give you an insight to the type of drawings that you will receive. The consultation fee is £20.00. After the initial consultation the designer will have a much clearer vision of the garden desired and will prepare a quotation for your garden design. This is in accordance to size and complexity.

An appointment shall be booked to carry out a survey of the specified area. This survey involves sketching the garden free-hand, noting any existing planting, structures, hard landscaping, buildings and levels. The site is then measured using X and Y points. The soil P.H id recorded along with the aspect and prevailing wind.

Two to three weeks after this survey you shall receive the completed drawings, consisting of a site survey and two concept plans in pencil and to scale for your consideration and approval.

Master Plan

You will receive a hand-drawn plan to scale. This will clearly show proposed planting, hard landscaping and any visual features. The drawing shall be coloured to show the plan to best effect. The Master Plan does not show specific planting, but is a clearer, more in-depth insight than the concept, and it is advised that this plan should follow.

Planting Plan

This plan follows the Master Plan. It offers a planting layout either from the Master Plan or to your existing beds and borders. This hand-drawn plan will show exact positioning of new plants. The plants botanical names shall be clearly noted in line with the plant. The Planting Plan is accompanied by a plant schedule. This will give the full plant names, quantities needed and sizes.

Please note that the Planting Plan is charged as an additional item.

Costs

Each design is priced individually and the cost depends on the complexity and size of the design. That said, any design that is considered less complex, shall be priced according to size as follows;

Existing re-vamp of borders priced individually. Prices start from £85.00 for a 6x2m plot.

Additional Services

If required, additional sketches, hard landscaping plans, cross sections etc can be provided. We can also schedule additional consultation time or on-site meetings to discuss plans, costs etc or project manage the whole process from start to finish with the nominated landscapers. These services are charged at £20.00.

Our garden designer Lisa

Lisa undertook a BTEC in Garden Design at London’s Ealing Tertiary College, in September 2000. This college was to then be taken over by Capel Manor.

Whilst attending, she helped with a handful of students create and construct a small town garden for Chelsea Flower Show in 2002.

After qualifying in March 2002, she moved from London to Colchester Essex for a better quality of life for her work and her children.

Lisas approach to Garden Design is innovative, stylish and practical. She will carefully listen to the client about their ideas and requirements for their garden. Planting perception runs alongside filling the intervals that hard landscaping cannot totally satisfy.
